"Above and Below"

This work was done as a part of a 3D-animated movie concept, as an large-scale environmental painting. I tried to push the sense of scale and awe that the piece would get across. Included below are some of the concept
The overarching story world of this project takes place in a cyberpunk-esque dystopia which draws a lot of inspiration from the real-life cramped buildings of the kowloons. The story itself is a retelling of the story of Chang'e and the moon, with a lunar cosmic horror twist.

The painting depict the protagonist, Chang'e, looking up towards the chained moon which hangs over King Hou Yi's castle ominously. She doesn't know it yet, but soon she'll be tangled in an plot with powers far beyond her understanding.
"Life of the Party"

A triptych based on the lives of the Lost Generation, the generation of disillusioned writers and artists who grew up post-WWI, drinking and smoking their youths away. All three individual illustration share themes and imagery of melting away, faces obscured by their respective vices.
"Telecaster Trio"

Similarly to Above and Below, this trio fo characters is also a part of their own individual story. In their 2D side scrolling adventure game, these robots try to survive in a world left in ruin and overgrowth with the twisted, analog amalgamations of humanity.
"Myse, the Lonely Puppeteer"

This piece was done as more of a personal project than a part of anything bigger. I tried banking on the creepy-cute aesthetic, their unassuming appearance disguising the uncanny horrors that hide in their bag.

Throughout their color studies, I wanted to explore the use of bright, eye-catching colors in combination with the tarnished metals and smooth porcelains of dolls and puppet making, a nod towards their real abilities.
